I agree. I saw the movie yesterday and couldn't see any link between the hordes of Xerxes in the movie and any modern Iranian. I might be blind. ;)

Told my Iranian friend this. He insists he will not see the movie. The Iranians are very proud of their Persian heritage, you understand. Darius, Cyrus and all the rest. The insist that only the Iranian government wants to bomb only Israel off the earth.

And, of course, someone always hates anything.

Kevin -- They should be proud of their Persian heritage! No doubt about that. But the movie is just a comic book, and the basic events actually happened. I don't blame your friend for not seeing the film, though. I never saw Black Hawk Down.
